Business Online Marketing Spending to Rapidly Grow Despite Tough Economic Times

Search Engine Marketing proves its power in the business world with increasing spending estimates in 2009. In the data provided by Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) based on a research conducted by Radar Research, a total of $ 13.5 billion was spent on search marketing last year (2008), which was mostly composed of paid placements and search engine optimization (SEO).

EMarketer senior analyst David Hallerman mentioned in an article that, “Internet users prefer organic listings to paid search. They generally find them more relevant—or simply more acceptable—than advertising, therefore, they tend to click on organic results more often than on paid search ads.”

Mr. Hallerman goes on to state, “Marketers are realizing that even if optimization’s effects are not as obvious as paid search advertising, SEO delivers longer-term results that support any search marketing campaign.”

The Radar Research growth projections are as follows;
